Not Just Another Day in the City of Brotherly Love

The sun is setting, meaning New Years' Celebrations are about to start, meaning business for the cape crowd. "You know Jesse, the longer I'm here, the more I think you steered us in the right direction."

"3x2(9yz)4a." Jesse started bouncing from building to building, running along the tops to build up speed, although she didn't get to far ahead.

"You'd think we'd have got the message through not to shoot guns off into the air. The bullets will come down somewhere, and it make us fliers unhappy."

Jesse looked down at a clump of people on the corner, before continuing. "Please let that be celebratory. The night is going to be long enough as is."

The first block of it is. The second block feature a party that has gotten out of hand. Wounded and panicked people fall out of a whole-block sized warehouse that was hastily and badly converted nightclub. Damn city bribes The place only has one door and it sounds like a war zone inside.

"Troia to available Titans. Nightclub gang fight. Unknown number civilians and combatants inside. Requesting some back up."

"I'll start grabbing civilians and getting them safely away. That should help clear an area to fix whatever it is."

Jesse floated down outside the one door, grabbed two obviously panicked club goers, and became a red blur.

Meanwhile, Donna is going to create a door. Trampling is a major cause of death in these circumstance. a side wall is punched out and she is immediately under gunfire coming from within the smoky club.

Jesse keeps dealing with the party goers. anyone slow and especially anyone who trips disappears in a red blur to a park two blocks down.

She does stop to say a few words to Donna. "I can pull the smoke out so you can see clearly, but they'll be able to see you, and each other. Want me to?"

Her words are nearly drowned out by gunfire. "I'm already pinned down! Go for it. It's will be on you to get people out."

Jesse grabs one girl who's shoes were impractical even before the heal broke, and set her down on the street corner, then started running circles outside the 'side door." She ran faster and faster, funneling the smoky air out of the club. The other door would allow clear air to be sucked in.

As she circled, she thought I hope the visability means that the guys with guns won't hit as man civilians accidentally. But, these guys are shooting in a night club. They don't care that much. I just hope they don't start aiming for me. I'd hate for someone to get hit because they're in my arms.

Once most of the smoke had cleared Jesse shouted toward Donna. "You're keeping their attention. We'll get backup. I can only get so far in. It's like pinball at any speed."

People are beginning to see who they're shooting at all right.

"Yo! Five-O."

"Worse! Lady capes!"

"Aw fuck this!" Many of them stop shoot and start to scatter. Sadly, that leaves the bolder ones, the ones who have delusions of becoming a legend in the Philadelphia underworld.

Jesse hesitated for a moment, but didn't chase the fleeing men. There were still innocent people in there with the other shooters. Plus, she didn't want to leave Donna alone. Two versus the world is very different then one versus the world.

Jesse kept her focus on the only intentional door, clearing the hall down to the dance floor of people. She was almost the the point where she would have a free run at the shooters. She just had to clear the last few people who had frozen in shock.

At light speed that's what she's counting on.

"Stand down!"

Some of the morons are running because they're out of bullets. Others are shooting as a way to cover themselves on their way out.

Donna's shout made a really nice distraction. Combined with the dark lighting in the club, Jesse hoped that these guys wouldn't even see her blur. It was always easier to pull guns away from people when they didn't expect it. Of coarse, once people started yelling about their gun being gone, it wouldn't be much of a surprise, but she's Jesse Quick. It didn't take long, and after the first one she remembered that gun barrels were hot.

"Ouch! Stupid. I'm okay."

Anyone still shooting got their gun taken. If they pulled out another one, she's take that, too. She put them in a pile outside the hole in the wall, where Donna could keep an eye on them.

Then she went to guard her door and keep the rats in until the police showed up.
